| General Operating Expenses - Food supplies, meds, & vetting alone, run around ......$2,000.00 monthly or more, depending on how often we have to vet. Projects: l. Outdoor/indoor, Safe Haven It's hard to believe we're still trying to overcome the destruction of hurricane Katrina! The catnip village is basically escape proof but a few are still finding a way out.
This is a wonderful safe, park-like area with shelter & structures for the cats to play and climb on, with cat friendly flowers, shrubs and garden elements for aesthetics (so cats can do what cats do best......eat, lounge around and be lazy, with intermittent playing in a safe and secure area)! This project has cost much more than we had planned. We've already spent over $12,500 and would like to make this even more special. below, After Katrina and before clearing........ just a very small part of the storm damaged area that had to be cleared - the whole area looked like this and worse! kitties wandering through the destruction
